Mission Statement

The Dennis Township Environmental Commission DTEC represents the public and its long-term interests as local environmental advocates. Commission Members work towards these goals by:

  • advising the township council and the planning and zoning boards about environmental impacts of proposals for development;
  • advocating for open-space preservation;
  • keeping residents informed on environmental matters and ways to help protect the environment;
  • promoting environmental education;
  • working with neighboring commissions and other organizations to meet these goals

General Information

Environmental Commission Members

Full and alternate members are appointed by the mayor.

Full members are appointed for a term of three years and alternates for a term of two years, on staggered terms so that the terms of a portion of the members expire annually.

Provisions are also made to have associate members who have expertise in a special area but may not be residents.

Please be advised, the State has adopted legislation that has made it possible for the Township of Dennis to hold meetings via electronic means.  While this scenario is not ideal, the Township believes it is necessary to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our citizens. Therefore, we will be having video conference Environmental Commission meetings on the following dates and times in accordance with the law:
